RFID is so standard in hotels now, it just seems antiquated to use a magnetic stripe card reader. The only place I found myself wishing the ship was newer was the elevators and card readers. For example, it wasn't faux wood paneling falling off, but a few scratches in otherwise premium finishes, or older style faucets. I think if it was a longer cruise with sea days, this could have made a difference, but the ship had plenty to explore during my time onboard.įinishes were a touch dated in places, but in a way that made the ship seem luxurious rather than cheap. While I was originally disappointed to hear that Allure was one of the older Oasis-class ships and hadn't been amped, I could barely tell at all. Before this I had only been on ferries for a few hours at a time. My family is very anti-cruise and anti-beach, but after watching dozens of cruise videos on YouTube, I jumped at the chance to join my friend and try it out. For context, I've been to 28 countries and 43 states- roughly half with parents and half solo.
20M here- just disembarked Allure's first 3 night out of Port Canaveral, was traveling with a 28M friend.
